Menuette is a control panel that alters the appearance of menu titles in the menu bar (at the top of your screen). Instead of the words that normally appear (such as File and Edit), you’ll see small icons representing these concepts. Menuette also allows you to use a custom font for any menus which do not have icons associated with them.
To use Menuette, your computer must be running System version 7.0 or greater - Menuette is fully compatible with System 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, 32-bit addressing, and virtual memory.

• MENUETTE & NOWMENUS
Menuette allows you to change the font used to display most menu items. NowMenus also provides this capability. If you use both programs, you should turn off this option within Menuette (this will speed up the display of menu items and prevent any possible conflicts). To turn off this option, choose “Set Menu Font” in the Menuette control panel, then make sure that your special font option is set to “Menu Titles Only”. With this setting, you can still use a custom font for the menu titles (a feature that NowMenus does not provide).
• MENUETTE & MAGIC MENU
If you use Aladdin Systems’ Magic Menu program, be sure that Menuette loads after the Magic Menu control panel, or Menuette will not work. This is not normally a problem (since “Menuette” falls alphabetically after “Magic Menu”), but some extension manager programs (including Now Software’s Startup Manager) force Magic Menu to load later than it normally would for their own compatibility reasons.
If Magic Menu does load after Menuette, Menuette will display a message indicating that “Menuette is not working because an extension which needs to load first was loaded after Menuette.” If this occurs, simply use your extension manager program to move Menuette further down the list so that it loads after Magic Menu.
• CHANGING MENU FONTS
If you do use Menuette to change the font for all menu items, be aware that Menuette cannot currently change the font of some custom menus. For example, it cannot change the font of Microsoft Word menus or of the extra menu that Now Software’s Super Boomerang adds to “Open” items. It does work in most cases, though, and we hope to improve it in the future. We just thought you should know.

Menuette 1.1.2 changes:
• Fixed a conflict with the FinderAppMenu extension;
• Fixed a problem that caused extra garbage in the menu bar if the Finder was quit;
• Fixed problem which was causing non-outlined items in menus when they should be outlined;
